Programs

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Preschool in Catlett Virginia provides both a three year old program and a four year old/pre-kindergarten program.  Our programs are designed in hopes that each child comes to love school, feels confident, happy and loved in a safe, caring Christian atmosphere.  Each child is encouraged by our qualified staff to grow and learn at his/her own pace, keeping in mind his/her physical, mental, social and spiritual growth.  Because we have two teachers in the classrooms at a time, we are able to offer small group activities to meet the needs of each individual child.  Materials and instructions for art, creative free play, reading readiness, listening skills, math readiness, science, nature, dramatics, and physical activities are offered to enrich each child and stir the natural curiosity for learning that all children naturally have.  A short weekly chapel class is offered to enlighten the children in the loving ways of the Lord.  We stress kindness to others, cooperation and a social responsibility within all activities.  St. Stephen’s Preschool uses all types of media (i.e. Field Trips to various local libraries, farms, parks, businesses, hospitals and airports), as a means for education and growth.  In house field trips (having visiting animals, fire trucks, and volunteers with talents, skills or interesting professions) also help stir imagination and educational growth.  We work with local elementary schools that say our graduating students come to them ready for kindergarten.
