What curriculum do you follow?
We incorporate two curriculums into our daily schedule: The Creative Curriculum and Learning without Tears. To find out more about each one, go to OUR CLASSROOMS page.
What is your immunization policy?
Each child's immunization records must be up to date by the first day of school. Each child must have an updated health form signed by a licensed Virginia physician, as well as a medical release form on file.
My child has a severe food allergy. How will this be handled?
Our priority is the safety and well-being of all children within our care. We are a peanut-free facility. If you have a question about another allergy, let the director know. We will work with you to ensure the safety of your child.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
No. Your child does not need to be potty trained. We have a diaper changing station in the women's restroom equipped with gloves, diapers, and wipes.
How does information get disseminated to the parents?
We realize you can't be with your child every moment. However, we know you enjoy keeping up with their learning while they are at preschool. We want to create topics for conversations with your children by giving you information on things they have learned throughout the day. We utilize a mobile app that is updated frequently with pictures and classroom information. Each classroom teacher also distributes a monthly calendar that includes themes and special activities for each month. The director sends a weekly email to the parents letting them know how the classes are going. Any take home flyers or projects are placed in folders and sent home with each child at the end of the week.
May I take a tour?
Yes. Weekday tours during the school year are readily available Mondays-Fridays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Accomodations can also be made for afternoon, evening and weekend tours, if needed. Please, reach out to us by phone at 540-788-3364 or e-mail at ssep20119@gmail.com.
